Another Nana Day

My friends, do not be surprised at the terrible trouble which now comes to test you. Do not think that something strange is happening to you. But be happy that you are sharing in Christ's sufferings so that you will be happy and full of joy when Christ comes again in glory. 1 Peter 4:12-13
The History of Valentine's Day

http://www.theholidayspot.com/valentine/history_of_valentine.htm

I wonder what it would be like to make a Valentine card for God. That would be fun to tell Him how much I love Him. He would see me while I was working on it. When I was done I wouldn't have to send it Him. I could keep it in my bible.

Yesterday my younger grandson developed a fever so my son picked up both boys and I cared for them for about 3 hours. Today I am caring for the younger grandson and he needs to be seen by a doc. He recently had an ear infection. He is 19 months old now. It is so cute how he says Oh Oh when something happens. He is changing in leaps and bounds. My older grandson is getting more loving with me. He wants to sit with me a lot. He is finally adjusting to little brother. He actually helps him instead of knocking him down all of the time. He will be 4 years old next month. Where does the time go?

I started to work on the small paperbag albums and I decided to do two full size albums instead. The small ones just don't give you enough room to work with. I will probably need more scrapping supplies. These are going to take some time. I briefly laid out one page and this is how it looks.

Scrapbook page of first grandson
You can't see the embossed raised giraffe on the light yellow paper. Nothing is fastened down I am just working with the layout first. I need more items down both sides. The card of Noah's ark will be open to write a thought in.

It is another cold day and it snowed overnight just a dusting again. It is 26 but really feels like 21 degrees out with the windchill factored in. Yesterdays dusting and all previous snows are pretty much gone. So the snow is not piling up like previous years. It is soooooo dry. I will be indoors and warm all day just being a Nana. I love being a Nana. Thank you God for giving me two grandsons!

When God Made Moms

My defense is of God, Who saves the upright in heart. Psalms 7:10
Thank you for today please help all those who have lost hope to find it again.

It is snowy today 30 degrees out and feels like 21! Just a really nice dusting so far this morning. We are supposed to get a Noreaster by weeks end. Now that could mean a lot of snow when it is a winter one and there is always a lot of wind. A Noreaster when it is warmer out means a lot of rain.

I am posting this in tribute to my Mom! She went to Heaven November 1 2006 I love you and miss you Mom! Somewhere Over the Rainbow was played and sung at her Catholic church funeral service by special request of my stepfather to the priest. They usually don't sing anything but religious songs. I used that song on another website I used to have along with this story about Moms. What a wonderful story. The website was a tribute to my Mom when she was alive. When my Mom passed away she had Pick's Disease, her brain atrophied, it is similar to Alzheimers is some ways. She died from choking on food unable to breathe.

When God Made Moms

By the time the Lord made mothers, he was into his sixth day of working overtime. An angel appeared and said, "Why are you spending so much time on this one?"

The Lord answered and said, "Have you seen the spec sheet on her? She has to be completely washable, but not plastic; have 200 moveable parts, all replaceable; run on black coffee and leftovers; have a lap that can hold three children at one time and that disappears when she stands up; have a kiss that can cure anything from a scraped knee to a broken heart and six pairs of hands."

The angel was astounded at the requirements for this one. "Six pairs of hands? No way!" said the angel.

The Lord replied, "Oh, it's not the hands that are the problem, it's the three pairs of eyes that mothers must have."

"And that's just on the standard model?" the angel asked.

The Lord nodded in agreement, "Yep, one pair of eyes is to see through the closed door as she asks her children what they are doing, even though she already knows. Another pair in the back of her head is to see what she needs to know even though no one thinks she can and the third pair is here in the front of her head. They are for looking at an errant child and saying that she understands and loves him or her without even saying a single word."

The angel tried to stop the Lord, "This is too much work for one day. Wait until tomorrow to finish."

"But I can't," the Lord protested. "I am so close to finishing this creation that is so close to my own heart. She already heals herself when she is sick, AND can feed a family of six on a pound of hamburger, AND can get a nine year old to stand in the shower."

The angel moved closer and touched the woman. "But you have made her so soft, Lord."

"She is soft," the Lord agreed, "but I have also made her tough. You have no idea what she can endure or accomplish."

"Will she be able to think?" asked the angel.

The Lord replied, "Not only will she be able to think, she will be able to reason and negotiate."

The angel then noticed something and reached out and touched the woman's cheek. "Oops, it looks like you have a leak with this model. I told you that you were trying to put too much into this one."

"That's not a leak," the Lord objected. "That's a tear!"

"What's a tear for?" the angel asked.

The Lord said, "The tear is her way of expressing her joy, her sorrow, her disappointment, her pain, her loneliness, her grief and her pride."

The angel was impressed. "You are a genius, Lord. You thought of everything. WOMEN are truly amazing."

We are all made by Him! Praise be to Him for making me the Mom I am.

Hope for Diabetes

Many are the afflictions of the righteous, But the Lord delivers him out of them all. Psalms 34:19
Today turned out to be a different day today. My plans changed. Instead I went to the church service/food giveaway. By the time they called my number at the very end there was not much food left. I received 4 good quality bread products and one small tub of spreadable cheese. I am very grateful for that. It is ok because I learned much more from the sermon and came away with a geater love for Him and knowledge that He will heal me. That was all I really needed. Tomorrow I will be going grocery shopping with my friends. I don't have much money for food this week but I know that my needs will be met. It was sunny but cold. It felt good to be outside for about an hour with over 400 people this morning. It is 40 degrees out and with a slight wind it really feels like 35. I was dressed very warm except for I should have worn my long john pants. Next time I will wear them.
I am pretty tired from all of that so I am going to need to rest up some this afternoon. I had wanted to start working on a scrap book album of my older grandson. Maybe later on!

Thanks be to Him for today!

I am fighting diabetes.

The Lord is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works. Psalm 145:9

Remember we are all created by Him we are all his children. He created us so that means even that person you might not like much well guess what he or she was created by Him.

Living for Him

Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God. Matthew 4:4
I live for Him! He gave me life! My life is in His hands!

Well it snowed a little bit last night and now today it has been raining all day. So most of the snow on snow on snow is all washed away.

This weekend I want to start working on the paper bag scrapbook albums of my grandsons. I am armed with plenty of two sided tape which is way better than glue. No more glue! Tomorrow I have grocery shopping to do and then if I am not too wiped out I will start layout of the first album. I hope to start this all new to me project. I will share pictures with you as I go along. Right now they just look like five lunch bag albums which are lunch bags sewn together by someone else. For now I am sure I can come up with something interesting like this picture.

We are all His children!

Amazing News

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life: You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so that you will not be dependent on anybody. 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12

I scored big at Walgreens on Nestle semi-sweet chocolate chips .74 each bag what a bargain. I now have everything I need to make my own cookies chocolate chip, peanut butter ~ plain and chunky, oatmeal raisin, m and m peanut butter and so on. I am sure there are many more combos not mentioned. I might even make sugar cookies. I am finally ready to bake but not for a bit longer until it is closer to Valentine's Day. So they are fresh. I need some Valentine Day goodie bags to put the cookies in for my grandsons.

So I will leave what is left for someone else ~ share, make someone happy!

I just found out about some housing which is available to me. I have housing now with my son which I am very grateful for but I could be on my own. There is a waiting list but it seems to be smaller than the other list I am on. I would qualify for this housing because I am disabled. Such joyful news this morning! It has brought me to tears. Happy tears!

10 AM EST and it is already 39 degrees out. We are thawing out. My bathroom fan is dripping on a towel I had to put on the floor. The sun is out today!

I will be taking another walk today. This one will be unlike yesterdays unplanned adventure through slush and ice in 32 degree temperatures. I might actually sweat which is fat crying. It is a good thing! Don't ever be afraid to let your fat cry. I need some sun on me! So it will be a walk in the sun! Which is a good thing too!

Where ever you are I hope your day is a sunny one!

Romans5:1 Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we[a] have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we[b] boast in the hope of the glory of God. 3 Not only so, but we[c] also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; 4 perseverance, character; and character, hope. 5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

I pray most especially for a dear friend and her husband because he is having surgery for lung cancer this morning. Lord surround them with peace and comfort them.

LOVE

Love suffers long and is kind; love does not envy; love does not parade itself, is not puffed up; does not behave rudely, does not seek its own, is not provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-7

I Love God with all my Heart! He gave me 2 gifts plus multiplied it by two first my two sons and then my two grandsons. Only to mention four gifts of many over my lifetime so far that I have received from Him! Thank you so very much Praise be to Him!

I had a great time with my grandsons yesterday. The little one is talking more. The older one is very much fun to talk with and even fell asleep on me last night for the Pats game! Yay! NE won! Great job guys and so full of surprises at the end! There were turnovers and a missed kick to name two well actually three because there were two turnovers. Not the kind you eat either!

Today is 27 degrees overcast feels like it is 21 We have a chance of ice. Praying for my trip out today to be okay!

It wasn't ok! I was left downtown and had to walk home unprepared. For a mile too. It was a trial. I had no long underwear on nor boots and by then it was about 32 degrees out. So when I got home I had a double hot chocolate. Supper is cooking and the stove is warming up the kitchen.

Good Sunday Morning

Lord, your love reaches to the heavens, your loyalty to the skies. Psalms 36:5
I am so excited I get to see my grandsons today while my sons go tubing on a nearby mountain. My feel good Nana feelings need charging up. I miss them. I have their Valentine cards all ready to go. I will try to remember to bring them with me and then have my son/DIL wait to give them to them on Feb 14th.

It snowed a couple of inches again yesterday. The snow is here to stay unless the warm 40 degree temps and rain wash it out tomorrow.  This morning it is 3 degrees and it feels like negative six outside. Way too cold for me. I will enjoy another day inside today.

I am going to start making some Valentine cards for my friends now. The ones I already made are going to Swap-bot.com partners. I am really enjoying doing this and looking for ways to be creative with the cards.Which reminds me I need to go through my ribbon bin and look for rick rack to use on cards possibly some ribbon and/or fibers too. Yesterday I made some of my own flowery envelopes from calendar pages as seen here:

Snowy Saturday

This is My commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. John 15:12

Yes a big snow event is coming today. I am in Manchester, NH I love the light flufffy snow! I will definately take pictures as the fluffy white stuff is so beautiful when and where it lands and piles up on top of everything. A blanket of snow!

http://beta.local.yahoo.com/news-biggest-snowfall-winter-coming-saturday

They are very correct when stating about the dry air. It has been very dry so far this winter. I have been boiling water to humidify my place. Also petroleum jelly on a Qtip swipe in each nostril at night has stopped bleeding. Lots of body lotion too. I think I mentioned this before in another post but since it is stated in the article how dry the air is I thought I would tell you about my experience with it firsthand.

Praise Him for snow!

Love one another and pray for one another!

Valentines Day card created by Glenna Normyle (me)

I received a wonderful blessing of supplies to make more cards! I have some time to get more done.

Well it looks like grocery shopping probably will not be in order for today. I will know later on when I talk to my friends who drive me there to see if we are going or not. It is 16 degrees out feels like 8 and it has not started snowing as of 7:27 AM EST The skies are very grey and thick, no sun which would normally be up by now!

Where ever you are I hope it is warm and cozy!

Father, there is none like you. I praise you for who you are. "The LORD your God, who is among you, is a great and awesome God." Deuteronomy 7:21

Fun Friday

Lord, your word is everlasting; it continues forever in heaven. Psalms 119:89
I went out to lunch and to two drugstores again today. My friend called me while she was running errands and asked me if I wanted to go. I needed to go get meds so I said sure.

Yesterday was crazy hectic here at home. My landlord gave me a new used stove and refirgerator. The refrigerator is huge. The stove is the same like I had before. The fridge is a Whirlpool designer series with the freezer on the bottom with its' own separate door. I get lost in the fridge. It is so neat with many drawers, big shelves too and the milk is now on the door. I will never be able to fill this thing I can't afford to.

Today it is 27 degrees out feels like 15 though. It is very windy. Sooooo cold. We had snow again last night that is snow on snow on snow now. A couple of inches at at a time and it is starting to add up. The sun is out and doing a great job of melting the ice. The streets are clear and drying up. It will all freeze tonight. We are supposed to get more snow tomorrow. It is grocery shopping day for me tomorrow. My friends will take me and go if the roads are ok.

I made another Valentine card. Here is a picture of it. I hope my swap partner at swap-bot.com likes it. I am sure she will.

Wednesday Tips

Lord, you do everything for me. Lord, your love continues forever. Do not leave us, whom you made. Psalms 138:8

I have already been to the docs early this morning before 8 AM. y knee issue is a wait and see, hopefully it clears up! Prayers needed for that. I have yellow stuff from nose and lungs. It is ok everybody has a viral cold. I am wheezing so my doc ordered up a new inhaler for me. I can now use that medicine more often every four hours. That should be some help. The wheezing is bad at times. My triglycerides when last checked were high so a full blood work up was done and to also check my thyroid today. My blood pressure was elevated because I am not feeling 100% I got sick early this morning my blood sugar was 179 this morning when I checked it. I didn't even know if I was going to make it to my docs this morning. I am feeling a bit better now as the day goes along. Sugar affects your triglycerides! No more sugar for me! None!

Some helpful information I thought I would share as today is Wednesday Tips. It is also my sister's birthday. Happy Birthday Sis!

http://finance.yahoo.com/news/9-things-shouldnt-buy-grocery-143952235.html

I had to add this article. Yes indeed homemakers are worth every bit of this and more!

I am going to make Valentine cookies from scratch. This is something I have never done. That will be my recipe for next month. I still need to come up with an all new recipe for my January 2012 goal.

This looks like fun! It is from dreamstime.com a free download so please don't copy it from me go there you can even sign up for free! GO HERE: http://www.dreamstime.com/referral.php

So what I need are just a couple of baking untensils like a rolling pin and of course the heart shaped cookie cutter plus I will need to find a sugar cookie recipe and make sure I don't need any ingrediants which I just might not have. I need the sprinkles for sure! My almost 4 year old grandson loves sprinkles! I will share some with them!

Snow on Snow on Snow

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. Hebrews 4:16
It snowed again here in southern NH last night. Well now we have snow on snow. I fed the birds yesterday. Those that decided to venture out and there weren't very many took notice of the 12 grain bread scattered near one of their hideouts, the forsythia bush. I have a picture of the food scattered but I didn't manage to get any bird pictures. Of course now it is all covered in snow but when it thaws out one day the birds will have a feast. Living in the city these lucky birds have so many homes built in the garages and structures all over it is amazing. We have a street then alley then street then alley and so on layout here. So many of them live in the structures along the alleys. They live in one garage that I know of that belongs to the house behind me. Then they bounce from a forsythia to a lilac to the garage all Spring Summer and Fall! I can just see them all huddled in there now that it is Winter and they are trying to just stay warm. I may try hanging a feeder on the tall fence next door but accessible to me and feed these guys like they are used to. I feel really bad for them that they aren't getting any more food because the people moved out.

I have been working on organzing my desk and my cookbook area in the kitchen this morning. I don't know how things get so wild and out of control. Except that I seem to want to save everything. I am getting there and way more organized. Not as much clutter. I don't even really like knick knacks anymore. You have to clean them and dust them. I don't have time for all of that plus being disabled it is extra hard for me to do it. It is a good thing I have a large storage unit here so I have somewhere to put things away for now. I still feel like a move is in my future. I want to move out of the city.

From dreamstime.com free down load go check out what they have please don't copy me. You can even sign up for free! I love lady bugs and it also symbolizes my Mother. She loved ladybugs too! GO HERE: http://www.dreamstime.com/referral.php

I see my doc tomorrow. They just called I have to be there at 7:45 AM. I am still having problems with my right knee. I also have been wheezing and coughing and now I have slugs in my nose. The air is so dry I am trying to keep the nose bleeding to a minimum as well. I have been boiling several pots of water throughout the past few days. This winter I am slathering on tons of Jergens Ultra Healing lotion I love it! No endorsement here just a consumer I bought the lotion recently and really like it.

One of my goals in 2012 was to take time out to read my bible for an hour each day. I am reading more often not quite an hour though. I have until the end of this month to cook something from a new recipe. So I will be planning this and shopping for the ingrediants this weekend. Whatever I make I will share the recipe and pictures with you later in another blog posting. A couple of my goals have already been accomplished the first being to create an arch and I did. It has been mailed off to my swap-bot.com partner. I haven't checked my ratings lately so I will have to see if she left a comment for me. I am pretty sure she will love it. The other goal is growing primroses in my indoor garden. They are there now two of them and I have shaded them from full sun mimicking a shady outdoor location. The window they are in gets full sun in the morning. My little baby spider plants are getting bigger. That was another new addition to my garden at Thanksgiving 2011. A gift from my sister.

My grandson on the way home from a Red Sox game He is dreaming baseball! May 2011!

Soon it will be baseball season again! Go Red Sox Go! I am definately looking forward to warmer weather! It is now 11:07 as I finish writing this and it is 35 degrees out feels like 29. That is cold. We are only just starting to get some more snow and the temperatures are definately colder than the somtimes balmy weather we enjoyed up until now. I want to dream about Spring and baseball!

I set my printer up and reorganized my studio. It didn't help my knee either. I was careful. I am trying to think of something to print. I guess it will be a new recipe at recipe.com

Have a wonder filled day and dream when you can, pray more often and read your bible!

I Love Grapes

Lord, even when I have trouble all around me, you will keep me alive. When my enemies are angry, you will reach down and save me by your power. Psalms 138:7

Free download from dreamstime.com please join them it is free and do not copy from me! GO HERE: http://www.dreamstime.com/referral.php

This is a really neat picture that I thought I would share today. It was a free download from www.dreamstime.com I will be using some of their free photos from time to time in my blog. Only when I don't have anything to share from own photography. This one is called "transparent grapes".

This is my digial photograph of "snow cotton bush"  Photography by Glenna Normyle (me)

Today is a holiday, it is in observance of  Martin Luther King Jr. It is 6 degrees here in southern NH it is soooooo cold this morning but it actually feels like negative six currently. Day three of an artic blast. Today I am studying about NH's state bird. This is a lilac bush I can see from my window and one of their favorite hide outs in the Spring. The bird is a purple finch. The female is rather plain but the male bird has a color on hits head and breast that looks like the color of the red grapes in the above picture. I have been watching them nearby for coming up on 6 years this Spring. The people that were feeding them next door have moved out. I feel like I should step in somehow and feed them. In the past years I have left food on the top of a nearby snowbank below this bush such as 12 grain bread and lots of birds have loved that. Today I will put out some bread I have for them. Then I can sit back and observe them from a large window and photograph them. It is supposed to be bright and sunny again today. Not that it made a difference at all yesterday nothing melted it is negative degrees outside. Oh I see right now behind my heavy insulated curtains the sun is rising at 7:45 AM.

Here comes the sun!

Where ever you are I hope your day is full of wonder and excitement!

I am certainly wondering about this!!!!! The temperature stats on my computer now say it is 5 degrees outside and it feels like 38 sometimes I wonder because the stats jump around. I am still not ready to face the cold this morning though!

COLD ARTIC WEATHER

Listen, I have given you power to walk on snakes and scorpions, power that is greater than the enemy has. So nothing will hurt you. Luke 10:19
Praise be to Him! We have some normal temperatures today for our winters but not much snow!

We have a blast of artic air on us here in southern NH. Today it was 2 then it jumped to 4 and now it is 6 and then 9 that is degrees outside with full sun and with the windchill it actually feels like negative 8. We still have snow! It is beautiful when you look at an undisturbed area of snow because we also have a layer of ice on most areas. So the show shines and shimmers! It is blinding. Wear your sunglasses and dress really warm if you are going out. Not me I have been up since about seven and it is almost lunch time 11:30 The gas heat is so dry running full force like it is to keep my studio warm. I have been boiling more water on the stove to get humidity in the air. It is helping with a dry cough I had and my nose. I carefully put my face over it to suck in the steam you don't want to get too close because it is extremely hot.

Have a blessed wonder filled Sunday everybody!

For God alone my soul waits in silence; from him comes my salvation. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I shall not be greatly shaken. (Psalm 62:1-2)

Snowy Cold Saturday

Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
The flakes were so big yesterday in a brief flurry. Some were even stuck together in chains. That I had never seen before. Beautiful work. A gift from Him!

Check out this very cool site you click on the page of the Sistine Chapel and it moves around music plays too. Got to love the internet! Love God!

http://www.vatican.va/various/cappelle/sistina_vr/index.html

MOVE THE MOUSE AROUND AND SEE WHAT HAPPENS.

Here is an amazing bit of technology that you would never see in person, as you would NEVER be alone in the room. It ... is ALWAYS VERY CROWDED and of course you can't see Michelangelo's artwork close up as you can here. This is especially spectacular if you have a large high-definition screen! Too many details to view on an iPhone.

TO VIEW EVERY PART OF THE MICHELANGELO'S MASTERPIECE, JUST CLICK AND DRAG YOUR ARROW IN THE DIRECTION YOU WISH TO SEE.

In the lower left, click on the plus (+) to move closer, on the minus (-) to move away. Choir is thrown in free.

MOVE THE ARROW AND YOU WILL SEE EVERY PART OF THE CHAPEL.

This virtual tour of the Sistine Chapel is incredible. Apparently done by Villanova at the request of the Vatican

It is still cold 31 degrees this morning. We are going to have artic like weather here in New England starting later on this afternoon. There could be very high winds and power outages. The snow has stuck for the most part and I believe it is here to stay for awhile. I didn't go out yesterday and take more pictures as it was 20 degrees out and slippery. With my recent knee problem the last thing I need to do is fall down.

Today is a shopping day again. I can't believe it this week flew by. My friends are taking me out for lunch and grocery shopping later on today. I don't need much but will stock up on things. I do need to get double sided tape and glue dots so I can start working on some scrapbooks of my grandsons. I have all the materials I need and so now I need to gather pictures and start laying everything out. In my mind I already I have so many neat ideas of what I want to do. A dear friend of mine gave me tons of boy scrapbook materials as I had very little. These will be my first albums. A few years ago I made some of my sons when they were little. I had no idea what I was doing back then so they are just ok. Now I have so much time to learn and create. I make cards bookmarks tags ATC's chunky pages arches and now I am going to try my hand at 5 small albums. I also am so grateful for all of the extra time I have to pray and read my bible. I participate in an online women's Christian Friends group and continue to meet new people online. I can't forget I love to play Scrabble online too. Praise Him for all these activities that keep me busy.

Here are some pictures of past projects of mine.

Snow Day Number One for 2012

Lord, you bless those who do what is right; you protect them like a soldier's shield. Psalms 5:12
It started snowing here in southern NH very early this morning before 4 AM. We have snow today Yay! I will get some snow shots with my camera today and share them here later on. I had planned to run errands and go out to breakfast today with a friend prior to this snow event and so we are still going. The schools are open today here in the city but all around us there are well over 300 school closings! We have an inch or so of snow right now more than a mere dusting and as I write this at 7AM it is still lightly snowing. Later on we are supposed to get rain. It is 34 degrees currently. There are icy conditions so I do pray for those traveling today that all get to and from their destinations safely. Praise Him for snow and protection today!

Welcome Wednesday

Not giving up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but encouraging one another-and all more as you see the Day approaching. Hebrews 10:25
I am so grateful for Him! Without Him I would be so lost right now. I just got off the phone with a friend. I have spent close to two years now trying to help her. Last month she had her final hearing with social security (it took me over 4 years to get my hearing) It took her a long time to get this hearing too. She didn't go. She had her day before the adminstrative law judge. Now she has to start all over again. She just lost a great deal of money (back dated pay). Now that she is starting all over again I believe her case starts all over again with a new filing date. Oh Lord please help her and her daughter. As she needs much guidance beyond her therapist and job coach (which is out of the question now). She must realize by now that she can't work. This is so sad. She is mentally not right and so is her teenage daughter. As she calls it mild retardation MR in her daughter. I see it in her too. I am going to be praying for her and her daughter more. I will help her more in all ways that I can but never financially because she doesn't know how to handle that. I will be there for them as much as I can. With your guidance Lord please help me to continue to help them. Praise be to you!

For Goodness Sake it is Monday

Let us come near God with a sincere heart and sure faith, because we have been made free from a guilty conscience, and our bodies have been washed with pure water. Hebrews 10:22
It is 22 degrees this morning here in non sunny southern NH. That spells cold. My coughing was unbelievable yesterday. I don't know about all this wheezing and coughing again. It was bronchitis before. Now I just want warmer temperatures looking forward to Spring. I turned up the heat this morning. Someone likes to turn it off.  I boiled two pots of water yesterday and my symptoms are better this morning. I hope I am getting better.......YAY! I am boiling some more water now with a dash of cinnamon added to it! It smells so good. I didn't have any sticks to boil so a dash will do the job.

I am watching CNN this morning at home on TV. They are broadcasting from a great restaurant on the westside of Manchester, NH called Chez Vachon. Politicians always go to the Red Arrow diner which is in downtown Manchester, NH I live very near to the Red Arrow and I have frequented both of these places.

I watered and fussed with my primroses this morning. They look very healthy and hearty. I learned to not fertilize them when they are blooming. They also don't like a lot of direct sun. Prefering shade outdoors. I think they are going to thrive in my window garden.

I have been playing Scrabble on Facebook. I love it. It actually challenges me to think which is very important.

My first arch is complete and ready to send to my partner. It is the inside of a church complete with woodgrain and a stained glass window. The size of an arch is 4" by 6" Here are pictures of my first arch I have ever made..

By the way for oh goodness sake is something I say. When I say it around my older grandson who is almost four he repeats it after me. Love it! Praise Him for my grandsons!

Prim Sunday

Let them give thanks to the Lord for his love and for the miracles he does for people. Psalms 107:8
Thank you Lord for...
Loving me unconditionally,
Watching over me daily,
Forgiving me for all of my mistakes,
And never giving up on me.

I slept in this morning. What a blessing. It is partly sunny this morning. I still had pain yesterday in my knee especially the last couple of steps coming up to get into my place. It hurts today. I really hope and pray this is normal and it is healing. I also picked up another cold or bronchitis that is what the cough sounds like. The air is dry so I am boiling a pot of water on the stove. It was so beautiful and warm yesterday here in southern NH. We got up to the mid 40's. This morning it is 37 and slightly windy so I am sure it feels colder outside.

Goal number three out of 12 for 2012 for me is to try growing a new plant in my indoor garden this year so yesterday I bought two primroses one has pink yellow flowers and the other a blue purple color. They like part sun so they are sitting off to one side in my indoor garden somewhat more in shade but still plently of light. I need to rearrange things so I can get them down lower and enjoy them. I can't see the flowers all I see is the underside of the leaves because they have to sit up so high for now.

My new primroses for 2012!

Skipping Past Thursday to Saturday

Let the peace that Christ gives control your thinking, because you were all called together in one body to have peace. Always be thankful. Colossians 3:15
Thursday this week I had to have fluid drawn from my knee. Since Monday I have been dealing with a knee problem. Now today I still have pain in my right knee but I am pretty sure this is going away and getting better each day now. Praise Him! I had to call for Him as I lay on the table just before the awful painful procedure of extracting fluid from my knee occured. He was there with me! He Always is there with me. I have been through a lot of medical stuff for the past 5 years now so I should be one to know it. I am sooooo grateful for Him!

Flash forward it is now Saturday. I have shopping plans today. I need groceries. I sure hope my knee can take it. I only feel a small amount of pain and I can walk normal without a limp. I should be fine.

I am so excited to see what CVS bucks I can get paid to shop this week with using my prevoius bucks and $10 card to purchase certain products there. I won't be spending any of my own money. I don't have to. Extreme couponing!

It is sunny today YAY! Supposed to be record breaking temps at 49 today! I love that praise Him!

BRRRR It is Cold Today

Let me speak your praise, because you have taught me your demands. Psalms 119:171
I am up early this morning as usual and it is 7 degrees here in southern New Hampshire probably less than that if there is any wind chill factor. I am glad I got my errands done yesterday. I will stay in today and get some things done for Swapbot.com I finished a mailart bookmark which is made from envelopes I received throughout the holiday season and recyled cardboard from microwave popcorn. I didn't have much in the way of mailart but just enough to eke out a nice bookmark for my partner. I am looking forward to another person sending me something.

Ever since I woke up Monday morning my right knee has been bothering me. It hurts and feels swollen and stiff. I didn't do anything that I can think of. So I am not sure why this is going on. I have been taking ibuprofen and tried ice but last night I used a heating pad and that felt so much more comfortable. I have never had knee problems. To me it just seems as if my body is literally falling apart.

I have figured out how to shop CVS drugstore and get bucks back. If you spend at least $30.00 on certain products you get a $10.00 store card. I spent $40.00 yesterday and got back $14.00. Now the trick is to only spend that $14.00 or less on my next trip to CVS and not spend any of my precious money which I have so little of. Next trip I will have to plan out at home with a CVS flier and coupons so I can get more bucks back and keep going. My sister and niece do it so I know I can too. I will make all my money back shortly and then some as long as I stick with it. Walgreens drugstore has a similar program which I may give a try too as I go there more often. This is extreme couponing. Wish it would work better for me at the grocery store. I want to get better at that! My grocery store Market Basket seems to not have the right deals to match with coupons when I need things something isn't working for me. I need to study it more. I don't by much in bulk because I have no where to store it in this tiny apartment.

Times Sure Have Changed

Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:31-32
I read this on Facebook this morning

THIS WAS COPIED FROM A FB FRIEND'S STATUS, AND IT AWESOME!!!!!! Checking out at the grocery store recently, the young cashier suggested I should bring my own grocery bags because plastic bags weren't good for the environment. I apologized and explained, "We didn't have this green thing back in my earlier days." The clerk responded, "That's our problem today. Your generation did not care enough to save our environment for future generations." She was right about one thing -- our generation didn't have the green thing in “Our” day. So what did we have back then…? After some reflection and soul-searching on "Our" day here's what I remembered we did have.... Back then, we returned milk bottles, soda bottles and beer bottles to the store. The store sent them back to the plant to be washed and sterilized and refilled, so it could use the same bottles repeatedly. So they really were recycled. But we didn't have the green thing back in our day. We walked up stairs, because we didn't have an escalator in every store and office building. We walked to the grocery store and didn't climb into a 300-horsepower machine every time we had to go two blocks. But she was right. We didn't have the green thing in our day. Back then, we washed the baby's diapers because we didn't have the throw-away kind. We dried clothes on a line, not in an energy gobbling machine burning up 220 volts -- wind and solar power really did dry our clothes back in our early days. Kids got hand-me-down clothes from their brothers or sisters, not always brand-new clothing. But that young lady is right. We didn't have the green thing back in our day. Back then, we had one TV, or radio, in the house -- not a TV in every room. And the TV had a small screen the size of a handkerchief (remember them?), not a screen the size of the state of Montana. In the kitchen, we blended and stirred by hand because we didn't have electric machines to do everything for us. When we packaged a fragile item to send in the mail, we used wadded up old newspapers to cushion it, not Styrofoam or plastic bubble wrap. Back then, we didn't fire up an engine and burn gasoline just to cut the lawn. We used a push mower that ran on human power. We exercised by working so we didn't need to go to a health club to run on treadmills that operate on electricity. But she's right. We didn't have the green thing back then. We drank from a fountain when we were thirsty instead of using a cup or a plastic bottle every time we had a drink of water. We refilled writing pens with ink instead of buying a new pen, and we replaced the razor blades in a razor instead of throwing away the whole razor just because the blade got dull. But we didn't have the green thing back then. Back then, people took the streetcar or a bus, and kids rode their bikes to school or walked instead of turning their moms into a 24-hour taxi service. We had one electrical outlet in a room, not an entire bank of sockets to power a dozen appliances. And we didn't need a computerized gadget to receive a signal beamed from satellites 2,000 miles out in space in order to find the nearest pizza joint. But isn't it sad the current generation laments how wasteful we old folks were just because we didn't have the green thing back then? Please post this on your Facebook profile so another selfish old person who needs a lesson in conservation from a smarty-pants young person can add to this...

I had so much fun with my grandsons yesterday. I am not a bit sore this morning and I have all those feel good Nana feelings going on. We played and watched TV for preschoolers all day. I played piggies on the toes with my little one 18 months old now and I swear he was saying do it again or again. He has cute ways of walking on tippy toes shuffling sort a gallop lots of cute antics puts his head on the floor and balances with one leg up in the air and uses some sign language such as milk more and please and to watch him discover new things experiment and laugh was such a blessing. He is even talking more. Both boys sat with me sooooooo much. They were angels no crying no fighting big brother wasn't picking on little brother all the time. The older one almost 4 now is really changing. Very smart. He sure wanted to eat alot for such a picky guy he has been and he wasn't a smarty mouth. I love those little guys so much such wonderful gifts from Him. Praise Him!
