Special Saturdays

These are the kind of days that I like. Nothing to really do. No pressure no time lines or deadlines. Today was one of those for me. I didn't even really have to go grocery shopping either. Just stay at home and get a whole lot done at home but it was all fun easy stuff. Washing dishes vs. making something handmade and then trying to sell it. It is nice and warm out. The window in my studio has been open all day......there is city sound....traffic, people, children, music, birds, dogs barking and so much more......I received a Mother's Day card early along with cherry smelling soap in the shape of a rose so that all you have to do to use the soap is pull a petal off.....really lovely. I can't wait to make my cards for my two partners and of course I always have a neat thing to tuck in the card. That would be a bookmark. Today I didn't have to make a bookmark because I have many to share. I have these prints too and there are many of these to share. They would look really nice framed! I kept the Baltimore Oriole bird print because I pretty much grew up in Maryland. Where did you grow up?

Websites to Explore Wednesday

I love to read! I could never afford to purchase all the books I read. I use my public library do you?

Looking for a library...looking for a book....check out this website:

http://www.publiclibraries.com/

This is a journal I have that is being passed around the world. When you request it you will add to a page in it of whatever you want however please keep it clean. I drew a pencil sketch of a hummingbird and added it to the journal. Now I am ready to pass it on. It will be available to purchase in my shop soon. It is a PIF so it will cost nothing to the buyer and I will pay shipping in the USA only and that is how it is passed along from one person to another. The person to end up with the last page to fill in gets to keep it. They will have to start a new one #39. This is journal #38 so this journal project has been going for a long time.

    THIS WEEK AT GLENNAS GARDEN

This week I have been busy making pinwheels, tags, more bookmarks to sell in the shop, some of these items may make it into Glenna's Garden at http://www.gnormyle.etsy.com/ The tags have cats on them, very cute and I used handmade paper for them. I also purchased some beautiful flower images and had one hard time printing them so rather than throw away all of the mistakes I created tags and bookmarks with them. I hate to throw things away. I was trying to print out 4 ACEO backgrounds which I eventually did figure out. I managed to get some photography done. I have a fantastic designer in Auckland. We met on ETSY. We were able to get 20 of my photos watermarked. I will share two pictures here today as well as they will be for sale at Glenna's Garden.

Spring is just starting here in New Hampshire. Today it is very cool and rainy again.

    WOW ITS WEDNESDAY

The first leaves are already turning I have noticed. We are due up here in NH for some cold temperatures the next couple of nights and that will really get things going. Today I received a huge lot of fabric. I am truly amazed at what I have to work with now. I have already made some fabric bookmarks and they will be listed in my shop soon. Today it is cool and going to rain definately. The sky's are dark now. So I will have to wait photograph them until things clear up. I sorted the fabric and gathered all the Fall colors togteher. I will put Spring and Summer away. Then I have silks in another bag. There is a bag of an assortment of gauzy bright fabrics. There is more larger various allotments of fabrics in a stack about two feet high. So far I have tagged and labeled 12 items for the sale. I am excited and hopefully I can sell some more of my unique items. Sunny Sunday this morning and cloudy plus quite warm this afternoon. The Red Sox are playing the Texas Rangers. I am working on Glenna's Garden and gearing up to list a whole bunch of new pieces. I have more tags, bookmarks, ACEO's, vintage items and I could do a supply destash. Looking forward to a busy week with the YART SALE. Monday morning we are going to do a small destash for the event.

    Fresh Friday

Sunny this morning up here in Manchester, NH.....this is a good morning blog. Today I will be adding bits and pieces of fresh new looks and ideas. My very nice friend Heather has a blog. So we will start with her today. She is a crafter. On her blog she shows us some great inexpensive ways to craft. Plus her blog shows all of the beautiful projects she has made. I love the latest a Victorian inspired pincushion she made, very nice. Here is Heather's Haven just click on this link below and don't forget to return back here and leave a comment for me
http://www.nightdreamer_371.bravejournal.com/ I made two graduation cards yesterday evening. They are made using vintage papers from old cards. They will be available for purchase in Glenna's Garden at http://www.gnormyle.etsy.com/ . Today is posting , PIF's and picture taking day at Glenna's Garden. Time to refill the shop with new items for Father's Day, there are going to be many cute quilters bookmarks, tags, stickers and books, cards for graduates, more repurposed containers and a few more boxes should be completed very soon. Later on today after picture taking there will be more pictures posted here too. This is the Christmas poinsetta blooming red in May, poor thing, she is very confused. Everybody at Glenna's Garden is getting a kick out of her late bloom. She completely skipped Christmas by the way and didn't bloom for Christmas 2008. Miss Poinsetta is about 4 maybe 5 years old at best. She loves her spot next to the big window facing southeasterly. Plenty of good morning sunshine!

    Happenings At Glenna's Garden

Yesterday I worked on putting together all of the bookmarks and cards I will be listing in my shop for Mother's Day. It is a lot of work to make the products, photograph them and list them let alone package them and ship too. I am enjoying it not complaining here. I made this card using vintage papers from a card from the early 1960's. I love to use vintage paers and design with them in my cards, bookmarks and boxes. I sell all of these items and much more at www.gnormyle.etsy.com TodayI got a great big bunch of flowers and greenery to press. They are now plumping up in vases. They smell so good especially the Sweet William. Tomorrow I will be pressing the flowers for my favorite project of all pressed flower art on canvas. I can hardly wait to present a pressed flower project of mine on Etsy. I will be making a vase with flowers in it totally out of pressed flowers and greenery. I have several boxes in various stages of design at this point. I am so excited in the last two days I have received my second and third orders from Etsy. I am trying to figure out what I want to sell from my photography and how to protect my photos from being copied. I am very busy these days and I love it.
