Marching On

So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the Lord. Deuteronomy 8:3

I have been so bad this year with my blog. Very ill too. Finally found out I am gluten intolerant. I am very sensitve to wheat, rye and barley.  So I have been trying to learn all I can eat to make my tummy feel better. Now I am experiencing very low blood sugars. I was up until 2 AM last night when my blood sugar dropped to 77. I was sweating shaking had a headache blurry vision couldn't fall asleep and felt like I was going to pass out. I have been feeling like that lately and I think it is from the diabetes pills I take that are extended release. Now that I have lost about 19 pounds and I can't eat like I used to I think it is time for a medication change. I had to fight over the phone with someone at my doctors office who was trying to tell me I am ok. I said no I am not. I am now waiting to hear from my doctor.

I have a new kitten. I named her Ruby. She was born Dec 2 2012 so she is 3 months old now. She has a lot of Maine Coon cat features. She was very ill with round worms so she has been treated once for that with deworming med from the vet and she gets a second dose in about a week. She also has confirmed ringworm via culture done by her vet. I just found that out last night. She only has one spot so it will be treated and I will see how she does from there. She still has had a ton of energy and is a joy to have around.

Meet Ruby~

She is so flufy and soft! Maine Coon Cats have lots of fur! Not a shedder just needs a combing. They take 2 years to fully grow and remain very playful all their lives. They are known as gentle giants. They have a higher than normal cat intelligence. I am so blessed by Him!

My older grandson had his fifth birthday party on Feb 16, 2013 at a candle pin bowling alley. Here are pictures of him and his brother who is 2 1/2. My grandsons and all of the children at the party had a really fun time.

This is a picture of the card I made my grandson.

On a Thursday

It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in man. Psalms 118:8

I can't believe that I have neglected my blog. I was doing so well last year. Well here is my first post for the New Year 2013. It is a Thursday. Not much new has happened this year so far. I have been doing a massive amount of reading at night. I read the Terri Schiavo story yesterday. Got me thinking about putting together a living will. I really need to do this. I will ask my doctor about it when I see her next month. The tummy troubles continue since the Paxil withdrawals. Not as bad as they were. I am hoping they stop. I don't know what is causing it stress, meds, certain foods, or illness/disease.

My son has decided he wants to get his own place. So I will be moving within the next 6 months. I can't afford to stay on here and I don't want a roommate. I will start the huge task of decluttering and packing. Giving away and throwing away. I hope I can afford a one bedroom apartment when the time comes or it will be a small effeciency for me. I always hope and pray I can have a cat. Through Him all things are possible.

Today, Glenna, we believe God wants you to know that ...

all emotions grow in size when practiced regularly.

Practice love to have more love, practice hate to have more hate. Practice kindness to have more kindness, practice depression to have more depression. The choice is yours as always.

Another Snow Day

Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. Those who believe in me will have life even if they die. And everyone who lives and believes in me will never die. Martha, do you believe this?"
John 11:25-26

Well today we are expecting more snow here in Southern NH today. As of 4 PM EST in southern NH it is very cloudy starting to get dark as usual and no snow has started falling yet. It looks like we are going to get the snow storm tonight and into tomorrow morning. It is sooooooo cold out.

I made a delicious leftover ham soup. I had cornbread with it for lunch. For dinner tonight I making chicken nuggets differently. I usually use Bisquick but I don't have any so things are going to be done a little differently. I will make them with breadcrumbs egg and flour. I will have to fry them in a bit of olive oil. I will also make a veggie and flakey biscuits to go with the meal..

Here is a picture of the snow wave made by the wind yesterday now there are icicles hanging on it. Very pretty!

Oh I love my new camera and how it zooms in. I think the pictures are really turning out nice now. It was so dark out too. These are pictures accross the yard next door on the building next door to where I live. Some distance away and out of my window. I can't hardly wait to take Spring flower pictures oh I am jumping way ahead. That is 3 months or more away. Winter has just started.

Today, Glenna, we believe God wants you to know that ...

peace can be found in unlikely places.

Even in the darkest storms peace can be found by those who seek it. When turmoil and tension tear at your heart, pray for peace and most often you'll find peace in prayer. Of course there is no need to wait for a storm, pray for peace right now.

Happiness and My Family

I am holding on to the Lord, even as I go through my storm. "Till He fill thy mouth with laughing, and thy lips with rejoicing." Job 8:21

It is coming back some happiness in my life. I went through some really bad withdrawals getting off of Paxil this past summer and Fall and still I am having problems. I have come a long way though.

Times are really tough financially for my son and I right now. My son lost his job this year. 2012 was a bad year. That is why I have a gratitude jar set up for 2013. I need to find something each day to be grateful for and write it down. It can't all be bad there must have been some good times in 2012 I honestly though can't think of much. We had a death in the family in 2012. Now this Christmas is the first with out her. As the year ends we are getting some big snow storms which is nice. It has been a couple years since we had good snow. The next storm is coming in tonight and into tomorrow. More snow.

My almost 5 year old grandson Christmas morning 2012
Someone on Facebook asked recently if you would be happy if you had family and no money. I said yes because I am happy grateful and blessed with family. I really don't have much money. I am praying for a better year in 2013 mainly for my health to get better.

You may have hit a rough season, but a better one is on the way. "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven." Ecclesiastes 3:1

Today, Glenna, we believe God wants you to know that ...

you need to slow down.

Take a moment to pause, to think, to reflect and to pray. Only then will you be able to get the right perspective on the people and things in your life.

My family thank you! Even family not pictured here and my friends too. Praise be to Him!

Big Snow Day Noreaster in NH

Jesus replied, "What is impossible with men is possible with God." Luke 18:27

Last I checked we got 8 amd 1/4 inches here in Manchester, NH today. Things are cleaned up and getting cleaned up and the Noreaster has cleared out. I woke up early and then took a nice nap this afternoon. Woke up starving a bit ago had the last plate of Christmas dinner leftovers. I took out a NY strip steak my son and I found them Christmas Eve at the grocery store. The steaks were marked down to a little over 2 dollars a piece. We should have bought more and other meat too. We didn't get it. I am kicking myself now because we need to go back and buy meat tomorrow. Ah well there will be something there meant for us.

Here it is we got 8.5" of snow here in Manchester, NH Yhis is a list of the snowfall totals.

Here are my snow pictures for today
True winter December 27, 2012 picture of snow dipped out . It was whipped out by the wind. Looked like a wave curling in front of me as I looked at it from my window today. Awesome. I reserve all rights to this picture.

My son and grandsons on vacation at home playing in the snow we had today from a Noreaster.

Today, Glenna, we believe God wants you to know that ...

when you notice the beauty and the goodness in the world, then the evils and catastrophes, the greed and the wars will not be as overwhelming.

Hold fast to your faith. Believe in goodness. Believe in God.

I believe God is good. Thanks for today!

We are definately going to get some snow soon here in southern NH. YAY! May everybody be safe! We get to enjoy some of what we are used to. Get prepared!

We had a white Christmas here with an inch or so of snow. I had a wonder filled Christmas a really nice time with family in the morning with both of my sons my daughter in law and two grandsons. Then I made a big ham dinner for my other son and myself. My son opened his stocking from me and I opened gifts from my friends and my sister. Later in the day I played Scrabble and chatted with my sister online!~ XOXO

Today, Glenna, we believe God wants you to know that ...

kindness doesn't go unanswered.

Even though it seems like thanks and acknowledgments for good deeds are in short supply, God notices them. When you feel like giving up because gratitude eludes, remember that God is delighted in your efforts. Don't stop showing kindness because you feel unappreciated, the author of good things appreciates you very much.

Praise Him thank you!

Saturday Night Before Christmas

It is better to have little and be right than to have much and be wrong. Psalms 37:16

Today was an easy day. I made a pot of spaghetti. Now I am baking a meat pie that my son's friend made. It smells so good in here and it is only 1/3 of the way baked. I opened a nice big can of fruit salad too.

Tomorrow I see my grandsons early before Christmas morning. It is supposed to be cold tomorrow and breezy. That means wind chill factors.

I love to cook easy things in the winter around the holidyas. Check this out.

Today, Glenna, we believe God wants you to know that ...

this very message is a little hug.

Hugs tell us many things; that we are loved, that we are important, that we are valued. This message is a little hug from God telling you all those things. Enjoy it, be blessed by it and try to figure out a way to hug God back.

I will!
