Well Owl Be

So be very careful how you live. Do not live like those who are not wise, but live wisely. Ephesians 5:15

This is sad! Shooting one bird to save another. We have to intervene? Really?

One of many owl ATC's I created some time ago! By Glenna Normyle (me)

Today I see a pulmonary specialist. I am feeling a bit better each day from since last Friday when I started with the nasty cold yet the same old wheeze remains. So I am up early this morning tying up loose ends to make sure I have all of my mail ready to go out because my friend will take me to run errands after the doctor appointment and we are also going out to breakfast. YAY! I have been stuck at home for days now.

I just read about this find this morning so I thought I would share it with you.

Sin

Sin is crouching at your door; it desires to have you, but you must master it. Genesis 4:7

Today's bible scripture reminds me that we must confess all of our sins to Him. We are then forgiven by Him. Master it!

I have been ill with a nasty cold which started Friday. Fever was 101.1 sore throat runny nose stuffy nose coughing like crazy blahhhhhhhh!

I don't know what I want to share or talk about today. How about this I will share the links to some recent websites I found to be interesting and maybe you will too. Enjoy!

Rise Up

Rise up; this matter is in your hands. We will support you, so take courage and do it. Ezra 10:4
I have a cold now on top of breathing problems oh joy blahhhhhhhh! I am staying in all weekend and until I see my doctor on Wednesday. I had tomatoes with mayo on two plain small toasted bagels for breakfast now I am going to enjoy a cup of tea with honey in it. Kick back and write something for today. Just for today I wish it was Spring and warm out . It is 37 and feels like 27 and the winds are howling through this church where I live. It was so cold over night we had to turn the heat on. It has been off for a few days because it was in the 50's.

I received a triple stalk sedum plant from a friend for my garden. The poor thing was in the cold last night in my mailbox which is in an unheated space here. It is warming up nicely now. I planted it all in one pot and then I will divide it again and transplant those later. I only had one pot to use which is perfect for now. It flowers and is on a woody stock commonly found outdoors. Very easy to grow. There are many varieties of sedum.

Sedum plant arrived 2/24/12 and already potted and in my garden

Windy dark and partly cloudy today

There are some partial blue skies today

Where ever you are I hope you are feeling well and that you have a wonder filled weekend!

Riches and Honor

Riches and honor come from you. You rule everything. You have the power and strength to make anyone great and strong. Now, our God, we thank you and praise your glorious name. 1 Chronicles 29:12-13

Praise Him for today! A Friday not just any Friday but this Friday today.

My day is filled with lots of time to pray and Praise Him today. I found a couple of nice materials to make some Spring cards and I am going to layout page two of my grandson's album. I want to get outdoors but today it will only be 39 for a high and early this morning it is 31. No more 50's like the last two days. I hope the flowers weren't tricked.

I just made a cute friendship card this morning

Handmade By Glenna Normyle (me)

It is hard to read the inside it says "It's great having a good friend to share things with"
Yesterday when I was going through my indoor garden and watering my plants I noticed my basil is blooming. Also the leaves are very strong and fragrant right now. Here are some pictures of my indoor basil plant.

Basil blooming at Glenna's Garden

Part of Glenna's Garden

Do you grow any herbs indoors? I would like to grow more but I am getting short on shelf space. I have some sedum coming that will need to be planted and then that will take up all of the cart space.
Happy Gardening!!!!!! Indoors or out where ever you are!

Just a Pinch of This and That

Respecting the Lord and not being proud will bring you wealth, honor and life.   Proverbs 22:4

In all ways I respect Him shame on me and you if we don't. He has given me life and my sons honor me, some people honor my friendship too and wealth is not always about material things what about a wealth of knowledge. He has created all of us equal yet unique.

These yummy cookies caught my eye this morning. Not that I eat cookies for breakfast well ok I have before. Perhaps I will try them. I would be meeting my goals for 2012 and that is to try a new recipe each month. Anyway you go check them out and then let me know if you bake them. Please send me some! Just in case I don't meet this goal.

Wow it is Thursday, already. this week has gone by quickly. I now have an appointment to see a pulmonary specialist on Feb 29th.  Praise Him for getting me there soon. And this too shall pass!

When I was younger my family Mother and my two sisters and my one brother and I but not my Father faithfully practiced the Catholic religion http://www.yenra.com/catholic/passages/lent/rules.html I practice a Christian faith of God. Anyway in the Catholic religion this time of the year is Lent begins with Ash Wednesday which was yesterday and there is Good Friday which is April 6 we give up eating meat during this time period. I instead have vowed to eat as little as possible meat and step up my walking regimine as weather allows it. Lent ends on Easter Sunday is April 8. I usually don't get to see my grandsons for Easter. They have great grandparents to see that day. I am completely understanding about that. They don't get to see their great grandsons very often. We did see them for the recent birthday party for Brady. They are elderly but still getting around. Such a sweet church going couple. My grandsons are blessed with great grandparents. My Father too but he lives in CA.

Very pretty flower arrangement I can hardly wait to see those purple flowers around here soon. They come out in early Spring and are called Grape Hyacinths.

Life is but a Breath

Remember, O God, that my life is but a breath; my eyes will never see happiness again. Job 7:6-8

Today is Ash Wednesday where by Christians get ash smudged on their forehead and it is the beginning of Lent where you give up a bad habit or resolve to do some thing better for the next six weeks. For me that will be to walk more! Which ties into one of my 12 goals for 2012 starting in March anyway.
Breathe new life into yourself. Try something new that is what my goals for 2012 are all about. Each month something new for March it is going to be about starting a life long commitment to myself to start walking everyday that it is nice to go out. I must do that for myself. I love myself. I am so looking forward to Spring. We got another dusting of snow overnight. It is currently 31 degrees. Day two I am trying Mucinex and it seems to be taming the breathing problems and doing its' thing. I wouldn't say that I feel cheerful and refreshed like the commercial on TV. I am tired still. I think I cough a lot at night and that is disturbing my sleep.

I still promise some fourth birthday party pictures. I am waiting to get some from my daughter in law.

In other year's I have taken the following Spring pictures. I know I need a bit of cheer and I hope to spread it to you! Here is some color for all of us while it is so drab and wintry outside. No sun today for us yet!

Today is errand day I get to run around and do errands. What do you like to do for errands? What don't you like? I like to find deals. I like to go to thrift stores too. The dollar store is the best place to go to find the unusual one of a kinds. I love to get a good book for a dollar too. Today though I am going to get food go to the PO and go to the drugstore. To get food too. That should be it and maybe lunch!

Wherever you are I hope that Spring is coming soon for you! Also have a wonder filled day too! Big garden dreams for all!

UPDATE
It is actually 52 degrees out right now and it feels like Spring. What a beautiful day Praise be to Him!

Allow yourself to breathe in and out slowly. Allow your breath to bring you to a place of calmness. Allow yourself to be calm like the eye in the center of the storm.

Pray Without Ceasing

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18
I pray without ceasing for many people places and things. Most especially for the poor and needy. I am poor and needy. I am one of them. I understand. My path in life has taken me here. Praise Him for all he as shown me. I am thankful for where I am for being alive and most of all for a roof over my head. It is not easy being homeless. I have been there. Today I will pray for the homeless. Pray for Spring! For everybody but especially those who are homeless to be warm again.

Brady's Day

Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit." Acts 2:38
Today is finally the day for my first grandson's fourth birthday party. I think I am more excited than him. I miss him and baby brother who is almost 20 months now. I will share awesome birthday party pictures on here later on.

Say It Like It Is

People will be rewarded for what they say, and they will also be rewarded for what they do. Proverbs 12:14
Promises are one thing but actually keeping them is another. Saying you are going to do something is great but actually doing it is awesome.

I have a busy weekend first Saturday church and then out to lunch and grocery shopping later on today. Tomorrow is all about my precious grandson who just turned four. What an awesome age! They really start to grow up a bit at this age. He is so sweet to me now. Before the last year and half since his brother was born well let's just say it has been rough at times. He is finally getting over the jealousy and anger of having to share Nana with baby brother. I am very excited about his birthday party tomorrow. You will hear all about it in my blog Monday.

I had 12 goals for 2012 set for myself  and so far I have met and/or exceeded trying a few new cooking ideas, foods or recipes so far this month. I also am going to buy myself a shirt today. I hope they are still inexpensive. I saw some I liked online at Walmart and they are available in the store too. One of my goals was to be good to myself and since I need clothes I decided I would buy one piece of clothing for myself each month. Last month it was a plain white T shirt which I already stained but Praise Him I was able to get the stains out right away with cold water. I bought that shirt to wear under a light green sweater my sister sent me. I want to wear them tomorrow to my grandson's birthday party.

I have gone another week now waiting to hear from a specialist for my wheezing and breathing and coughing. I have been pretty much sick since October 2011. I also have allergic rhinitis. All these lovely things going on with me that I never had before. I think as we age our body changes. Plus I am allergic to things that grow naturally outdoors here so in the Spring, Summer and Fall plus now the Winter my body is inflammed. I take a steroid inhaler for my nose and I take a steroid inhaler for my lungs now too. This all makes me think about all of those poor people who just suffered before there was modern medecine. Praise Him for good doctors and modern medecine!

I thought I would share this beautiful picture of a single tulip as we await Springtime! I can't hardly wait to get out and do photography which I love.

For Your Information Friday

People who do what is right may have many problems, but the Lord will solve them all. Psalms 34:19

Praise be to Him! I am so happy to know this.

Today is organizing day at Glenna's Garden. I am on the hunt for all things wonderful for Spring Summer Easter and St Patty's Day and not all in that order. I have a little break between swaps plus I have no listings on Listia so now is the time to become even more organized.

Wow 2 days in a row of 50 degrees and then it looks like a small amount of slushy snow for the weekend. I am so happy I got a birthday card and gift for grandson yesterday. He is four now. Where does time go when it flies by? My son his Daddy says Mom he will be driving in 12 years. Oh boy! Slow down. We have lots of years of great memories ahead of all of us. I am trying to make a scrap book album for each of my grandsons. Page one is done for the oldest grandson. I have to go back 4 years for him and 1 1/2 years for the baby.

I have more room on the sides if I want to add to this theme. Page one of Brady's album.

Check this out

http://pixlr.com/editor/

I looked it over briefly and messed with a picture of my younger grandson. I would need to experiment a lot with it. Looks like a lot of fun.

Looks like next month I will making a trip to Michael's craft store to see what I can't live without. I really like ME (Mary Engelbreit), Debbie Mumm, and Martha Stewart products. I am on the hunt for bargains. Especially at http://www.listia.com/signup/256628 I would love to join more post card swaps at www.swap-bot.com but I am seriously lacking in PC's to send out. I have been looking for PC's for awhile. To buy in quantity. Do you have any unused PC's you would be willing to part with? We could work out a deal!!!!

What are you doing this weekend? I have plans to go out to lunch and grocery shop with friends if the snow doesn't mess things up. Then on Sunday off to Chuckee Cheese. It has been years since I have been to a Chuckee Cheese. I think I might even have a Chuckee Cheese token 30 years old or so in my coin collection somewhere.

Happy Birthday Mom and Brady

Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
Today is my now deceased Mom and my first grandson's birthday too. He was my little angel born on Mom's birthday under two years after she went to Heaven. Thanks be to Him for this precious gift. I can't write this without tears ~ tears of sadness and tears of joy. Mom I miss you, love you and Happy Birthday!

Peace and calmness descends me as I can't help but think about my pulmonary problems. Sometimes the wheezing is bad and when I hear it, it is a reminder that something is not right. I have a medical problem. Scared no more worried no more as I turn it all over to Him.

Monday News

Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, And put your trust in the Lord. Psalms 4:5
I trust Him with my whole heart and love Him with my whole heart!

I watched the Grammys I actually enjoyed the show this year. I didn't enjoy the mockery as I perceived it to be in one show against Romans and the Catholic Church though. The rest of the show was interspersed with wonderful tributes to Whitney Houston who had gone to heaven the afternoon before. Whit you are already missed and will always be, we will meet in heaven one day. The theatrical muscial shows were wonderful and some of the stage props were really fantastic. Of course the tribute to Glenn Campbell and his appearance on stage, even though he has Ahlzeimer's Disease now, was truly one of the best parts of the show for me. I am a fan of his.

Whats For Dinner?

http://shine.yahoo.com/whats-for-dinner/

I made the call to my doctor today for a referral to a pulmonary specialist. I have to wait for a call from them now for an appointment date. I just can't seem to get rid of whatever I have that is affecting my breathing. I am wheezing all of the time except for when the inhaler works.

Tomorrow is Valentine's Day! What are you going to do, anything special? I am going to make some sort of a nice dinner for myself. I have a freezer full of meat. I just need to look and decide what I want. Last night I had a boneless pork chop baked, fresh asparagus steamed and a microwaved red potato. For dessert I had an orange. I have been eating an orange a day for awhile now. Tonight I am making chicken breasts baked, carrots and couscous. I love couscous. Maybe I will add black beans and a bit of cheese to that. Oh and a salad too. I need to bake some chocolate chip cookies tonight. I pray I have the energy because I sure have not had much since this morning.

It was very cold over the weekend. This afternoon as I write this we are at 38 degrees at 2: 00 PM and it really feels like 29. I have been hibernating because everytime the cold air hits me it makes me cough. Even to just step out in the unheated hallway of this building takes my breath away. I know because I just put out two soda cans out to be recycled and all I have done is cough, cough and cough some more.

The 16th of February is going to be my now 3 year old grandsons fourth birthday. The real party will be on the following Sunday. I will definately call him on his birthday though. I will really be missing my Mom that day. Since 2008 it has been a good day and a bad day for me. The good is that he is my angel, my precious first grandson born on his Great Grandmother's birthday. Mom I miss you so much. Never is there a day that goes by that I don't think about you. I know you are in Heaven and I know I will join you too one day.

You know I love you and Him!

Faith in Him to Heal

Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen. Hebrews 11:1
I have faith in Him as my healer. I have evidence of this in my past as I have been afflicted with 6 years solid of one medical problem after another. The newest one is requiring me to see a pulmonary specialist. I am calling my doctor Monday so they can set up a referral for me. I have been sick since October 2011 with initial diagnosis of bronchitis and strep throat then colds, nose problems, now constant coughing, chest tightness, lack of sleep, breathing problems, an attack was triggered in me today by the cold air while I was at church. I will not worry and I turn all of this over to Him. The spacer for my inhaler helped deliver medecine to my lungs better than other methods. I will use it every 4 hours and hopefully be able to sleep. It seems to be worse at night while I am trying to sleep. I am tired so easy now. I love Him!

Friday A New Day

Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 1 John 5:14

That is right according to His will! He has a plan for us. No matter what we think or do it is all His.

We are supposed to get walloped with snow tomorrow here in southern NH. I will take snow. It has been so mild this year that we have not had very much at all. I hope we don't get way too much though.

I am sure I won't be doing any shopping this weekend and should have enough groceries to get me through another week.

This morning was the worst day yet when I woke up I was wheezing so bad I could hardly breathe. I got up right away and used my inhaler and it really worked fast. I also prayed again that I would be healed. I don't want to see a pulmonary specialist. It scares me think that I am once again having another medical problem. Six years of this is wearing me down. I am tough though and this too I will get through.

I am going to get out for a short walk this afternoon to mail some letters at the PO street box. That way I won't be fighting to walk in snow in the next few days. The temperature is all the way up to 45 degrees so far today and it is 1:15 PM

I am in some really nice swaps and the due dates are spaced out nicely so I don't feel rushed and overwhelmed. The animal lettering came in yesterday's mail so now I can complete page one of my first grandson's scrapbook album.

No Hiding From God

Nothing in all the world can be hidden from God. Everything is clear and lies open before him, and to him we must explain the way we have lived. Hebrews 4:13
It is good that I know Him! Love Him! Praise Him for this beautiful day!

I can't hide this I made it and I am proud of it. Here is a picture of my latest card which I have made wrong. It is supposed to be blank for someone else and I stamped it on the back Handmade By me for whomever is my partner. So this one will go out to someone not in the swap and they will love it. Today I will have to get busy and make another card as well as do some rubber stamping for another swap. I should be able to get everything mailed out tomorrow. Plus some extras I have and I need to put together blessings for other people in my Christian friends group of ladies.

Handmade card by Glenna Normyle (me)

I spent most of last night coughing like crazy. I was very tired yesterday and today too. I will do what I can. Save the rest for tomorrow. I am expecting a new toilet today or tomorrow. My landlord says that there is just rust in the toilet tank because the pipes are old  but it smells like mildew and is black. Hmmmm?

I just quickly made a new Glitter card like above but it is slightly different with a different background paper and no gold rhinestones over the glitter berries. It is also plain this time for someone else to use as per the swap requirements. I am excited to see the glitter card I get from someone else in the swap. Now on to rubber stamping! I am going to try a glue applied to the stamp technique and then I will add glitter to the glue area.

What kinds of crafts do you like to do?

Temptation

No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it. 1 Corinthians 10:13
Many times I have been tempted to do something or say something and I am so thankful I didn't. God is good! I know he is watching over me.

I saw my doctor yesterday. I may need to see a pulmonary specialist if I don't get better in two weeks. I have had bronchitis off and on since October more on than off. I am now using my steroid inhaler differently and my doctor also ordered me a spacer for it. That is so I can get more of this medecine down into my lungs. So far the new method of holding the inhaler away from my mouth actaully seems to be helping more. I am so tired though and I know I am not sleeping well at night. I think I am just oblivious at this point as to how much I cough all night long. I pray I get better soon.

Also we have black mold growing in our toilet tank. I am seeing my landlord this morning. My doctor said that toilet needs to go ASAP. It could be making me sick. She said my bathroom needs to be wiped down with bleach. My usual routine is to hit all the spots with a mildew/mold killer. I have one of those tub surrounds but it has crevices where mold loves to grow. I sprayed it all this morning like I do weekly.

Today is going to be a stay in day it is 18 degrees and feels like 11 with the windchill this morning. Today I am going to check into my supplies for making some pretty Spring cards and I also have swaps with www.swap-bot.com to work on as well.

Here is a link to an article about seven suprising health facts about coffee. Do you like coffee?

http://shine.yahoo.com/healthy-living/7-surprising-health-facts-coffee-162900281.html

I love coffee! Even iced coffee. I make my own I am not into Dunkin Donuts or Starbucks coffee or anything fancy. Just home brewed coffee with milk and fake sugar now that I am a diabetic. I don't even mind when it gets cold. I will drink usually no more than two cups a day. I also like some teas year round and hot cocoa in the winter. Iced tea in the summer is nice. Lately there has been much bad publicity about sodas and even diet sodas. So I have been trying to keep them to a minimum and drink water instead.

I am missing my grandsons so much so my feel good Nana feelings must be wearing off. Hope I see them before the older ones birthday party on the 19th. If not I will call him on his birthday which is the 16th. It happens to be the same day as when my Mother was born. He is my angel. I miss my Mom now that she has gone to Heaven but I have a grandson born on her day! I am so blessed!

Good People

No harm comes to a good person, but an evil person's life is full of trouble. Proverbs 12:21
Schucks the NE Patriot's didn't win the Super Bowl congratulations to the NY Giants. What a great game. I ended up making macaroni sald and drumettes and wings. We also had shrimp with cocktail sauce supplied by a friend. I didn't have time after shopping and napping yesterday to make cupcakes. Personally I am a WA Redskins fan and always will be. I just happen to live in the NEW England area now. My first grandson is old enough now to love the Pats. He is named after Tom Brady. So I cheer for NE some these days too. I am also a Baltimore Orioles fan but I will go to a Red Sox game in a heartbeat and I cheer for them too.

Tomorrow is Super Bowl Sunday

My whole being, praise the Lord and do not forget all his kindness. He forgives all my sins and heals all my diseases. Psalms 103:2-3

Super Bowl XLVI is Sunday, February 5, 2012 at 6:30 PM ET, televised on NBC.
The New England Patriots and the New York Giants meet in Super Bowl XLVI.

These are seven unexpected uses of your microwave. Six of them I already knew about. I clean my sponges in the microwave to sanitize them. What is new is the potato chips. A friend told me she got a slicer for potatos so she could slice potatos very thin and cook them in the microwave to make chips. She had them at a Pampered Chef party recently and said they were really good. I am going to try it.

Very early this morning at 3:45 AM it is 27 degrees out but really feels like 13. I sure do hope that the sun comes out to help make it a bit warmer out there. I am going to a church service which is held outdoors and then they give away food afterwards. Today I will dress warm with my long johns, under shirt, over shirt, fleece pants and warm socks. Hat scarf gloves and heavy jacket too. The layered look! I love to get together with 400 or more people for Saturday service.

Later on today I will be organizing coupons, making a grocery list and Super Bowl food and drinks planning. I am thinking about making meatballs and wings. Macaroni salad and redskin potato salad (for my team the Washington Redskins). They will bring good luck to New England Go Pats!

Praise Him for a beautiful new day!

Well I used up my 50 free downloads at www.dreamstime.com I didn't know that there was a limit! Now I will have to pay if want to continue using their photography. I will have to look for some more free sites to download photos from.

Of course the best is always my photos like this one of my 19 month old grandson trying on big brother's sunglasses and admiring himself in front of the dishwasher.

Today I am finally going to run errands and go out to lunch with a friend of mine. I hope. I want to go to Michael's craft store. I haven't been there here yet. I need blank cards and envelopes so I can make my own cards. It is very cold this morning 22 degrees but really feels like 13 with the wind chill factored in. I won't be walking anywhere today. It is more like park near the front door and move fast. I have bronchitis and have been coughing since October last year. So I have to remember to cover my nose and mouth with my hand or preferably a scarf so that I don't breathe in cold air suddenly. It actaully takes your breath away at first.

It is finally February here in southern NH USA. Winter is here just no snow. I love this but should not get too comfy with it after all this is New England and we usually get tons of snow. I am looking forward to the Superbowl Go Pats Go! It is time to plan and shop for superbowl foods and drinks!

Praise be to Him for football!

Grace

My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.   2 Corinthians 12:9

HAPPY GROUNDHOG DAY

I know if he saw his shadow or not now! No thoughts on this!

Well I am very refreshed today and ready to tackle my grandson's scrapbook album. This is the first one I have ever made so it is going slowly. I was going to run errands today but that all got moved up to tomorrow. My friend just called and she can't give me a ride today. I told her we need to go to Michael's store and she was agreeable. It is close to where we are going for lunch.

Lately the experts have been warning us about just how bad sugar is for us especially regular and even diet soda drinks. Check this out for some more information about sugar.

I took some close ups of my babies. These are spider plants. They are doing great. These will be the mommies eventually and have babies hanging off of them when they get older.

Sorry for the blurriness We have no sun today so I put them under a lamp for close up pictures and they aren't the best. The bottom picture of the second plant has two plants now. I got these from my sister at our Thanksgiving Family Reunion 2011.

Do you like to garden indoors? What do you grow indoors? I worked in my garden yesterday Plucking and pruning. The primroses seem to love it nearby the window. They have stopped flowering and now they are producing a whole bunch of leaves in the center of the plant.

I am going to replant these after I see what they are going to do after leafing. They may flower again. They are very root bound. This has been a fun project and one of my goals for 2012. That is to grow something indoors that I have never before. I started a basil plant a long time ago and it is still going strong. I also started a wandering jew plant by rooting it in water and recently planted it in a pot. I only had one cutting and I am thinking about cutting it again and rooting it again. It looks funny!

Happy gardening indoors and out if it allows you! No gardening outdoors here in southern NH. It is 38 degrees out and feels like 31 today. It is overcast and dull. Looks like winter!
