Tuesday Tuesday

Rain rain and more rain from the latest tropical storm which is still down south. We need rain it was a long HOT summer! Good for a nice Fall up here in NH especially our crops. I said it Fall. I painted a watercolor and then ink drawing ACEO of pumpkins at the marketplace the other day. I might get some small pumpkins this year and decorate. I go to a new market now. It is on an apple orchard. This Saturday I will be making a stop for those late summer crops and new delicious apple variety to try. I never knew there were so many different kinds of apples. What are you doing for Fall? I would love to find some gourds dry them out and paint to look like birds. I have one that was given to me a couple of years ago and every Fall it becomes an inspiration to me. What inspires you? I made a nice bookmark for Fall. The Day It Rained

Today is going to be a rainy day. Still warm muggy and grey as grey can be morning skies. Today I need to make a mad dash, timing it perfectly of course, to the post office box. Could be worse and I wouldn't be dashing at all, it could be Winter. Well it looks like today is going to be another great day to stay inside and do Spring cleaning and organizing in my studio. A thought keeps popping in my mind every once in awhile lately and that is to write about growing up a blonde. I don't know why I am being urged by my inner self to write about this so I just keep putting it off. Do you ever get thoughts like this not troubling thoughts just persistent?

MONDAY MONDAY

What about Monday. I always find it hard to get back into gear on Mondays. This weeks Feature Friday is set to go for Marlene for her shop http://www.lazyhawk.etsy.com/ I am very excited to do this for her. The temps are cooler today and we got washed out with a lot of rain over the weekend. YAY for the pollen really bothers me. The plants and trees are loving it. I did some shopping this weekend. I found packs of blank recipe cards. Do you keep recipes? I started doing this when I was a little girl. I don't know where they went to. So I have decided to start writing my recipes favorites and ones I want to try that may become favorites. Something to pass down to perhaps my grandchildren or sons. My sons have a few favorites of Mom's cooking. I also belong to a swap group that swaps recipes. Check out http://www.swap-bot.com/ for every possible swap you can think of from recipes to books, arts and crafts, supplies you name it. It is so much fun!

Kraft Garden Salad

What You Need!

1 pkg. (16 oz.) farfalle (bow-tie pasta) 2 cups broccoli florets 1 each red onion and red pepper, chopped 1 cup halved cherry tomatoes 1 bottle (8 oz.) KRAFT Sun-Dried Tomato Dressing 1/2 cup KRAFT Grated Parmesan Cheese

Make It!


COOK pasta as directed on package, omitting salt and adding broccoli to boiling water for the last 3 min. Drain; rinse under cold running water. Place in large bowl.
ADD all remaining ingredients except cheese; mix lightly.
REFRIGERATE 1 hour. Stir gently before serving; top with cheese.

Twice on Tuesday

Do you ever wake up in the morning and add sugar twice to your coffee because you aren't awake yet? That's me! I did it this morning good thing I use Splenda so it wasn't too strong and a big coffee cup too. It is sooo muggy this morning. I am thinking it might rain. Partly sunny kind of thick feeling sticky! I was going to walk to the post office downtown but the I found out I had 5 more items to send out. YAY! I love staying busy. Maybe I can get out for a quick jaunt around the neighborhood. If I had a dog I would have to go for many walks....sadly I am not allowed pets where I am. I do have some nice pictures to show you of irises from the garden. This Friday I will be featuring Doris who crochets many wonderful items among them bees.

SOME DAYS ITS RAINY

Not only is it really dark grey and raining today here at Glenna's Garden, but it was snowing this morning. It is now 3 PM in the afternoon and it is still a cool 40 degrees. That didn't stop me from taking some nice pictures of outdoors around Glenna's Garden. HMMMMMM looks like the rain gauge is filling up. The lilac to the right is about to pop. We should be in the 70's this weekend so I am sure it will be looking and smelling really nice by then.

I am saving this container from going into the land. It is 8 1/2' tall and 5" round. I thought it would be interesting to take some before pictures and then after pictures when I have upcycled it. These are the really fun projects that I really enjoy doing.

SHINY DAYS ARE BACK

We had so much rain up here in Manchester, NH yesterday something like 3". It strips the trees of their beautiful leaves. It poured all day long. Good day for shopping. This morning it is bright and sunny but I am sure it is cold too. My pomegranate plant appears to have two itsy bitsy blooms popping out again where the others have all been. This should be pretty I hope they take so I can get some pics to share. I am looking forward to making different items for Thanksgiving and Christmas in the next couple of weeks.
