Keep Out of Trouble

Those who are careful about what they say keep themselves out of trouble. Proverbs 21:23

It is 51 and cloudy at noon. This is my lunch time. I am baking a large piece of fresh haddock in lemon juice butter salt and pepper. I am also making wild rice and green beans almodine. Why such a fancy lunch you say. Well I think deserve it. The haddock was on sale $3.99 a pound. It will easily be 4 meals for me from a one pound piece of fish. That is $1.00 each meal for fresh fish. You say you don't eat fish or don't like it. You don't know what you are missing when it comes to haddock and salmon. We are supposed to eat it. It is beneficial to our bodies. What do you take for a supplement if you don't eat fish? The smell in my kitchen is heavenly right now as the fish finishes the last 10 minutes of baking. Here is a picture of my meal. What a delicious lunch. I forgot about the sliced beets in vinegar chilling in the refigerator until I saw them when I put the leftovers away. I am so full I ate like 1 1/2 portions of fish and some extra rice. Now I am stuffed to my gills. No pun intended.

Well I am fighting the feeling sleepies! So I am going to get busy scrounging my supplies for boy scrap book items! Where ever you are enjoy a wonder filled day or night!

30 Degrees Sunday

This is my command: Love each other as I have loved you. The greatest love a person can show is to die for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. This is my command: Love each other. John 15:12-17

Ahhh the temps are cold again. It is 46 now feels like 41. The high for today is expected to be 54 and a low of 30. Yes I said 30. It is time to turn on the heat here again at the end of April in Southern NH. It is advised to not plant anything outdoors here until mid May or later on in May. I suppose it could snow. Not that is going to but it could. A Spring was here we even had 88 degrees one day. Tomorrow the high is 63 and the low should be 43. So it will gradually warm up some next week. This is my sixth Spring in southern NH. The Spring plants that have already popped were ok with the cold temperatures the night before last. I will have to check them out and see how they made it through two nights of a cold snap. This is the day he has given me and others Praise Him! I do love you!

Are you thinking about Mother's Day yet? This is a hard time of the year for me since my Mother went to Heaven a little more than six years ago. This year I am going to out to a breakfast for Mom's with my friends. Then we are visiting one of their Mother's gravesite to visit with her and leave some flowers for her. She went to Heaven about two years ago. I have met this remarkable woman if briefly here on Earth and one day we will meet again in Heaven. Later on in the day on Mother's Day I will be spending the time with my sons, DIL and grandsons. They always surprise me so I don't know what we are doing yet. Just seeing everyone is fun enough for me. I thought I would share this recipe site full of recipes for Mother's Day. This way if you are planning an event for Mother's Day you can get a jumpstart. Enjoy!

To free yourself from a problem you have to acknowledge it and face it with your eyes and heart wide open.

Cold Snap Saturday

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Proverbs 3:5

I will!

It is 36 degrees out feels like 27 here in southern NH this morning. BRRRRR! It feels nice a toasty inside as the sun was out earlier. It is 7:15 AM I love it it is so quiet right now. I hear my clock in the kitchen ticking.

The last couple of days I have been really tired and it felt like the nasty stomach virus was coming back. When I eat I notice that my stomach is very tender. It actually hurts to eat. I see my doctor soon May 9th so any lingering problems can be dealt with then.

Today I am going grocery shopping with my friends I haven't been able to get out for 3 weeks now. I need to restock my kitchen, fridge and freezer. I barely ate anything last week so I was able to go so long without shopping. I have been praying for strength. The ability to stay awake for the duration of this shopping trip. I am sure the cold air will wake me up. I need to get my winter coat out of storage so I can wear it today and tomorrow. The plants are going to feel this cold snap.

I am hoping to find some inexpensive scrap book items in the clearance section at Walmart today too. I just don't feel like I have enough doo dads to add to these two scrap books I am making. I am afraid that the pages will be too bare. I managed to fill in the whole page on the first page. This is the first page I have ever made. Here is a picture of it.

I tried my best to capture this page to show it to you. Where the glare is there is light yellow paper with a tall giraffe embossed on it. This turned out really cute. The next page I am doing is going to be titled Rub a Dub Dub and it will feature my second grandson who is not quite two years old yet. I am looking for rubber ducky items sailboats bubbles diecuts to fill in the page. This is going to be a tedious process page by page as I select a picture I have to find items to add to the pages to make them interesting and creative. It is fun! Do you make scrap books?

Where ever you are I hope your week end is wonder filled!

Butterflies

Therefore whoever hears these sayings of Mine, and does them, I will liken him to a wise man who built his house on the rock. Matthew 7:24
Rocks equal strength. Strength that comes from Him you have to pray for.

The Butterfly Project submissions accepted until 12/31/12 for the Holocaust Museum Houston

http://www.hmh.org/ed_butterfly1.shtml

I love making butterflies. I will definately be sending one to this project. The butterfly is a symbol that now represents my Mom to me.

Looks like the temperatures are going back up to 50 or so today. We didn't get snow yesterday but some parts of PA and upstate NY did. We were at 35 degrees and it was cold and windy. Today and the next few days it is supposed to be mild close to 60 with a chance for showers. Those April showers that will bring May flowers are much needed here in southern NH.

I belong to a group of Christian Women Friends online. Prayer is literally one click well a couple but
still I know I can count of these ladies for support. Praise Him for putting them in my life!

Wee Bit Cold Again

Therefore comfort each other and edify one another, just as you also are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Maybe some pretty bright pictures will cheer things up.

It is cold and rainy looks like several days of this too. This morning it is 45 feels like 40. Grey cloudy and rainy BLAH!!!!

I wanted to get out and take pictures of the lilac bush, rohdedendrons, azaleas and the tulip tree. Well I missed a whole week last week of writing here. I got the norovirus. The worst stomach flu ever painful too. I am better as each day passes. It hit me pretty hard because of being a diabetic.

Rain rain go away I want to play! My garden wants sun!

I will be working on scrap books this afternoon hopefully. If not well then they will have to wait. I am still tired and a bit weak.

When the rain stops and it warms up a bit I will take some awesome shots like this one well almost! I hope you have a wonder filled day and night where ever you are.

Spring Splendor

The true children of God are those who let God's Spirit lead them. Romans 8:14
Let go let Him do it!

What a beautiful weekend we are having here in southern NH. Again sunny 60 already just before 10 AM as I write this. I need to get out again today and see Spring in all her splendor. A walk is in order for sure.

I have been having lots of fun getting ready to make two scrapbooks. This morning looks like the perfect time to finish the first page. I have some ribbon that needs to be put on this page. I just got the ribbon in the mail yesterday so I need to do it. Then I can move on to a new page all new pictures and layout and theme.

Enjoy your Spring beauties!

George the Gentle Giant

The soverign Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like the feet of a deer, he enables me to tread on the heights. For the director of music. On my stringed instruments. Habakkuk 3:19
So this morning all my plans have changed. I have not heard from my friend. She does this sometimes to me. She might even just be sleeping and not hear her phone. She never showed up at 8 this morning to go to Saturday church and run errands.

A walk is in order for me today with camera in hand. I need to capture Spring 2012. That will be nice I can do a story on what good things happened today. I want to talk to my sister anyway. Now is the chance while she is on the road.

The temps are 66-54 today then 75-64 Sunday and on Monday 88-63 and 84-54 Tuesday. So warm suddenly! I will have the A/C on. I can't open these windows in and let the pollen in. Besides my place is very warm as the steady sun beats down on this outside corner unit I live in. Heat rises from below too.

George is the world's tallest dog. You just have to see this gentle giant of a dog. I love all animals but cats the most. Dogs would be second. All are gifts from Him.

Dark Valley

Even if I walk through a very dark valley, I will not be afraid, because you are with me. Your rod and your shepard's staff comfort me. Psalms 23:4
I have been to that dark valley more than once in my life. It sure is comforting to know He is with me.

What a beautiful sunny morning we have. It is 45 feels like 43 and it is supposed to go up to 63 this afternoon. Oh this is in southern NH. I love it here. This Mother's Day will be year six for me. It has been a very busy last six years for me. It seems there is no end to medical problems. Now I have sebboreah around my nose and downe one side of my mouth to my chin. I have to put cream on it two times a day. Thank goodness it isn't contagious. It is something I have internally that the cream only soothes and it isn't getting rid of it. I don't wear makeup on my face but I am beginning to think about it. I wanted to ask my doctor first though. I see her next week.

It is so pretty outside everything is blooming all at once from the daffodils and tulips to the beautiful white and pink flowered trees to azaleas. I love it here in the Spring. The pollen must be up because I have been sneezing a lot and my eyes tearing for the last couple of days.

My indoor garden is loving it check out a few pictures I took this morning. It is very pretty inside too at Glenna's Garden.

Silly poinsettia blooming in the Spring

Beautiful pomegranate blooming

Sedum from friend in GA loving it yes behind it is my avocado tree

Two baby spider plants from my sister actually there is a second one in pot on the right.
They are growing up quickly.
You can see a flowering basil stem too. My messy dried up leaves I need to vac up as well.
The poinsettia plant sheds.

Purple wandering jew plant cutting from a friends restaurant stretching towards the light.
It was one stem (lower bottom) and suddenly all these new shoots started growing off of it.

These and many more plants keep me busy caring for them almost on a daily basis now. Lots of watering is required and making sure each one is truly happy where it sits. I have a happy indoor garden with all the blooming going on I think. Do you grow plants indoors? If so what?

Bloom

The right word spoken at the right time is as beautiful as gold apples in a silver bowl. Proverbs 25:11
I love it when you receive the word from Him sometimes in the most unexpected ways. My sister had such an encounter where the elderly person told her she would find housing this weekend. She is going to be looking for it but this person didn't know that. It is a God thing! Divine intervention!

This is a collage ATC for April Showers I made for a swap. What does it remind me of well I always say that rain is tears from heaven. April showers bring May flowers so I made this ATC titled Bloom. With the rain we get beautiful blooming flowers. The rivers are down around here because we had little snow this winter. Rain is in the forecast today. We need it.

A Merciful God

The Lord your God is a merciful God. He will not leave you or destroy you. He will not forget the Agreement with your ancestors, which he swore to them. Deuteronomy 4:31

Do you know about your ancestors? I know mine through pictures and some in person. My ancestry is a mix of 1/2 Finnish, 1/4 Irish and 1/4 French. One day we will all meet in Heaven.

Some pictures of my ancestors! The top picture and bottom picture older girl are my Mother. The second picture is of my Finnish Grandmother and Grandfather. The third picture is my Finnish Grandmother with her first born daughter my Aunt Lois in her arms and a friend standing next to her. The bottom picture is my Irish Grandmother and my Aunt Nicky and my Mother, her daughters. My maternal Grandfather was French.

Happy Easter 2012

Then you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free. So if the Son makes you free, you will be truly free. John 8:32-36
He has risen! Thank you Jesus.

HAPPY EASTER 2012

The weather here in southern NH is on the cool side today as I begin to write this at 11 AM it is only 45 and of course it feels like 38. It is also mostly cloudy. I just had fun on Facebook looking at all the Easter posts from people all over the world. There were posts from online friends that I don't know personally and of course some I do and even family too.

I should see if  I have some nice Spring pictures to share with you will be right back.....

I could go on and on with pictures I thought that a few might bring bright happiness where there may be otherwise darkness in your day! I hope you enjoyed these! I made the duck picture using a children's book illustration on stretch canvas and my copyright is on the daffodils and grape hyacinth pictures because they are my photography. Currently my pomegranate is blooming and each cluster has several buds and or blossoms on them. I love the deep dark reddish orange flower that the pomagranate produces. Friut would be nice but this is a smaller ornamental type of bush for now and it is grown indoors. A pomagranate is a rather large heavy fruit. My plant is too small to support the fruit.

On this day of your life, , we believe God wants you to know ... that you are perfect as you are.
God doesn't create faulty life. No. Everything created by God is perfect, and so are you. So stop driving yourself mad with endless ways to improve, and just accept the glory of your being as is.

I do!

Light from Heaven

The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but those things which are revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may do all the words of this law. Deuteronomy 29:29
My favorite contemporary artist has gone to Heaven. He apparently died of natural causes at the age of 54. I would like to share with you something he was quoted as saying in 2002.

"With whatever talent and resources I have, I'm trying to bring light to penetrate the darkness many people feel." Thomas Kinkade

http://news.yahoo.com/kinkade-artist-drew-many-fans-few-critical-raves-223158752.html
I found this blog today and they have two great recipes and/or directions for making the perfect hard boiled egg and for Au Gratin Potatoes. So far I think this blog is great......it is like a book I love to read blogs if they have nice content. If they interest me I will stick with them and read them daily. This one gets 4 stars so far until I read some more.

http://its-fitting.com/

I am ready for Easter dinner. I am making my son and I a small spiral ham, mashed potatoes, gravy, fresh green beans for my son, asparagus for me and rolls. I am making strawberry short cakes with lite whipped cream topping for dessert.

I have been caring for my younger grandson for the past three days. Just when my feel good Nana feelings were waning I got walloped. The baby 21 months old had another ear infection so he is on an antibiotic for it. He also starting coughing really bad so his doctor put him on a short term steroid to open his lungs up and he is back on his nebulizer and Albuterol treatments. It wiped me out caring for him I slept over 12 hours last night. Today I went out for lunch and then grocery shopping. The crowds were large. I look forward to a peaceful quiet evening and Easter day. Last night I gave my grandsons cards for Easter. I put bunny rabbit confetti in them. My four year old grandson enjoyed that. He made me a couple coloring pages for Easter. He is learning to write his name now and loves to trace letters.

It has been in the 50's during the day and very windy with nightly lows in the 30's Spring is definitely popping up everywhere there is alot of yellow forsythia and all of the white and pink blossoms on the trees and bushes. That is so pretty. The bulbs have popped up too. Every where you can see the colorful tulips and daffodils plus hyacinths. The grass in green again.

Where ever you are have a wonder filled time!

This is a picture of my Grandmother and Grandfather immigrants to the USA from Finland. The young boy (standing on the car) is my oldest uncle on my father's side of my family. I am 1/2 Finnish and very proud of it.  I love the cross that is formed from the lights and darks in this photo.

Message from God

The Lord saves good people; he is their strength in times of trouble. The Lord helps them and saves them; he saves them from the wicked, because they trust in him for protection. Psalms 37:39-40

I had a great day yesterday. A surprise visit with my grandsons ages 22 months and 4 years. My 4 year old grandson was too quick for me to catch on film besides he was having a blast with his Dad. However my younger grandson was easier to take pictures of. He really enjoyed these kiddie rides. He did each one 3 or 4 times I lost count.

Yes we were at Chuckee Cheese again yesterday to use up the tickets and coins from my older grandson's birthday party he had there recently. I love my grandsons! Lots of feel good Nana feelings going on today! My son that I live with surprised me with this visit. He asked me to go with him yesterday but didn't tell me where we were going I thought that we might be going to their house. I even asked my son if I should bring my camera and he said he couldn't tell me to or not. LOL of course I brought it with me!
It got up to 58 yesterday! It is 49 now at 1 PM EST in southern NH as I write this. It is 49 because it is mostly cloudy. Yesterday was beautiful blue skies and nothing but sun.
I have a doctor appointment tomorrow for a tooth problem and also I have had a sore throat opposite side from the tooth for a couple of weeks. It seem to be connected to my ear same side. Time to check things out and see what is going on. I was scheduled for a two hour breathing test tomorrow which was rescheduled to the end of the month. With me you never know I have on going health issues. It seems like it is never ending.
I am working on one page layout for the first scrap book I am starting of my older grandson. I have so many nice pictures of my grandsons. It makes it really hard to decide what I want to do. A friend has shared some layouts with me. That was so nice of her. I still have to look at the books I have and get some more ideas. I think the pictures I choose will pretty much dictate the lay outs and what I add to each page I make. I also have to make an April Showers ATC for my good friend online. We are in a swap together and I got her as my partner. I can picture the ATC I want to make for her in my mind.
This is a message I received from God today! It is available on the internet!
If all you had to do was wish for something and you would have it, life would be pretty boring, wouldn't it? God placed barriers between us and what we want, so we can enjoy interesting and satisfying lives. God hid our biggest rewards behind the highest barriers - our deepest fears. God wants us to face our fears, and hold ground in their presence, and let them go, and that's how we get out biggest rewards. What are you most afraid of? Say it, just start by saying it.
Ok I said it to myself!  I know what I am most afraid of! This would work for you too! Try it!
Let me see if I can get this coin in the slot! He is concentrating hard!

Praise Him so precious thank you for this beautiful grandson!
I hope you have a warm wonder filled Monday!
