SMOOTHIE SATURDAY

Out and about in the garden....I find patches of these everywhere. They look like pansies only much smaller. These are violas or violets. You start with one patch and they spread over the years. Quite a hardy plant to survive in the harsh NH winters..


I just had to share this recipe with you.......because it sounds so good! Refreshing on a hot day!

Honeydew-Kiwi Smoothie

Fresh mint and lime juice add a bright finish to this drink.

2 servings

Recipe by Bon Appetit Test Kitchen

Ingredients

•2 cups 1-inch cubes peeled seeded honeydew melon

•2 cups crushed ice

•1 1/4 cups 1/2-inch cubes peeled kiwi

•10 large fresh mint leaves

•1 tablespoon fresh lime juice

•1 tablespoon honey

Preparation

•Combine all ingredients in blender and process until smooth. Divide smoothie between 2 glasses and serve.
